About Laura Linny
Laura Linney was born on February 5, 1964 in New York City to Romulus Linney (a well-known playwright) and Ann Leggett Perse, a nurse at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. Linney graduated from the Northfield Mount Hermon School in 1982.
She briefly went to Northwestern University before transferring to Brown University, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Arts in 1986. She also went at the Juilliard School and at the Moscow Art Theatre.
Laura Linney’s theater career includes Broadway performances in “Hedda Gabler” wherein she won a Joe A. Callaway award in 1994, “Holiday”, which is based on the movie which starred Katharine Hepburn, and “The Crucible”, where she was nominated for a Tony Award in 2002 as Best Actress in a Play. She also won another Tony Award three years after for “Sight Unseen”. Laura Linney was married to David Adkins, from 1995 to 2000.
