Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes have finally set a date for their impending nuptials. The pair, famed for their sick-making public displays of affection, will tie the knot at George Clooney’s villa in Italy next month.
After looking at a number of hotels, the couple, who have a six-month-old daughter, Suri, have apparently plumped for George’s £1.4m pad on the shores of Lake Como, after holidaying there.
It’s reported that the 42-year-old Mission Impossible star and his 28-year-old squeeze will wed in a civil ceremony performed by the local mayor, despite Tom’s very public and very scary devotion to Scientology.
The event is sure to be a lavish affair and dozens of Hollywood stars are expected to attend. But what of the dress?
Last week bride-to-be Katie was spotted in Italy after a flight from Paris, where she is rumoured to have chosen a Karl Lagerfeld design, but has refused to confirm she’s plumped for Chanel.
A source told the Mirror yesterday: “The wedding is scheduled for mid-November. Kate had looked at various hotels but the venue is to be George’s villa.”
