Beckhams Likely Permanent Residents of LA
LOS ANGELES - Victoria Beckham says she and her soccer-star husband, David, will likely become permanent residents of glamorous Los Angeles.
The glamour gal singer formerly known as Posh Spice told reporters she and her family were thrilled to be in Los Angeles and could stay on in the U.S. city despite her husband’s earlier statements about returning to England.
David Beckham was formally unveiled Friday as the newest and biggest star on the Los Angeles Galaxy, one of the L.A.’s two professional soccer clubs. The former all-England captain has signed a lucrative contract with the Galaxy, which will likely carry him to the end of his career.
The Daily Mail Saturday hinted that Posh, a former member of the Spice Girls, might be more enthralled with the glitzy Hollywood scene than her husband. The newspaper said Beckham expressed concern about uprooting his three kids and hauling them to Beverly Hills.
Others close to Beckham say the move is primarily commercial, aimed at corralling some pricy endorsement deals for David and expanding Victoria’s fledging career as a U.S. celebrity.
